Carved in the form of a seated mare and foal, the foal licking the mouth of the mare who rests her right forepaw gently on his back, hair of the manes and tails carefully etched and stained black, the hair rendered in additional etched lines also stained, himotoshi drilled through base and one side, signed on the base in a rectangular reserve--1 1/2 in. (3.8 cm.) high
