An oak and parquetry inlaid longcase clock, the movement with outside countwheel striking on a single bell, the engraved brass dial inscribed Thos. & Jane Litt, E.Burton, Kendal, with subsidiary date dial, enclosed by a glazed door flanked by fluted pillars, the broken architectural pediment with central part starburst medallion and inscribed C.S.D., 1659, the shaped trunk door carved with stylised flowerheads enclosed by scrolls and flanked by fluted demi-columns, the box base carved with lattice panels enclosing flowerheads, and flanked by canted angles, on arched bracket feet, 85in.
