The picture dates from circa 1948 and is illustrated in Belleroche's, Brangwyyn's Pilgrimage, p. 241.

The inscription indicates that the picture was in the collection of Count William de Belleroch, the eccentric American who liked to dress as King Henry VIII and who lived at New Place Manor, Pulborough, West Sussex in the 1960s.
