"The idea of electronically translating life has been intriguing concept to me for some time. Computer graphics, digital read-outs, X-ray, and the scan-lined video image have all influenced my way of seeing. Impressions, gestures, and impulses viewed through the look of artificial intelligence have become part of our visual language. My paintings, therefore, address themselves to this dialogue between Nature and Technology."

(Ed Paschke, quoted in: The 39th Biennial Exhibition of Contemporary American Painting, exh. cat., Washington, D.C., 1985)
