Piaget was founded in 1874 by Georges Piaget. Based in La Côte-aix-Fées, the company was a manufacturer of exceptional pocket watches and exquisite watch movements for prestigious brands. In 1911, Timothée Piaget took over the company and started a line of prestigious and diverse timepieces such as bracelet watches, coin watches and ring watches. Other than impressive horological complications, Piaget is also well known for jewellery timepieces with bold designs. It was the first brand that produced watches featuring dials made of hard stones. Cuff watches also became an iconic symbol of precious jewellery watchmaking soon after its launch. Christie's is delighted to offer a selection of Piaget fine watches for auction. This diversified group shows us some of Piaget finest timepieces set with precious stones, such as diamonds, sapphire, emeralds, lapis-lazuli and turquoise. These watches demonstrate the firm's dedication to fine watchmaking and commitment to excellence.
