woodcut, circa 1496-97, watermark Imperial Orb (M. 53), a fine proof impression before the German and Latin text editions of 1498, printing very strongly and with great contrasts and depth, slightly unevenly along the central drying crease at the right, trimmed on the borderline or just inside the borderline in places, a short tear at right, a tiny paper loss at the upper sheet edge at left, a small brown stain on the monster, generally in good condition
