According to the Archives of Piaget, the present watch was manufactured in 1970.

The present watch is an impressive example of the "Esclave" model, part of the "Manchette" collection launched in the early 1970s. These watches were designed for a young and avant-garde female public and characterized by their large bracelets, forming a cone when worn, and the unusual dial materials.

A similar model, with coral dial, is prominently illustrated on the cover of Piaget Hallmarks of History by Franco Cologni. It was part of the exhibition Montres et Merveilles - 200 créations rares provenant du Musée de l'Horlogerie de Genève et des Collections Privées Piaget, Geneva, 13 April - 28 August 1994 and is illustrated on page 78 of the exhibition catalogue. It is furthermore illustrated in Montres et Merveilles de Piaget by F. Cologni, G. Negretti, F. Nencini, p. 133.
