QING DYNASTY, 18TH CENTURY
The censer is of compressed globular form, with a pair of loose-ring bat-form handle incorporating loose rings to the sides, supported on four short legs shaped as bats. The exterior is intricately carved and incised with a band of overlapping key-fret patterns below a ruyi border encircling the mouth rim. The cover is similarly decorated with key-frets and ruyi heads, with the finial finely carved and pierced with a shou-character roundel surrounded by four large lingzhi heads. The stone is of an even white tone.
7 1/4 in. (18 cm.) wide across handles, box
