Offering Lotus

The recipient of the painting, Bingxin, was Gu Bingxin (1923-2001), a Shanghai native. He specialized at wood block printing, cartoon and Chinese paintings. He successively served as the painter at Huadong People's Fine Arts Publishing House, the associate director of the Cartoon Department at Shanghai People's Fine Arts Publishing House and the dean and professor at the Department of Chinese Paintings, Shanghai University. He is the council member of the second, third and fourth China Artist Association.
