Georges Chaudet est membre de la Société des artistes français, où il expose régulièrement ses oeuvres. Il fait la rencontre de Gauguin à Douarnenez en Bretagne et devient son ami et marchand jusqu’à son décès en 1899. En 1891, Chaudet participe à une exposition à Pont-Aven aux côtés de Gustave Loiseau et Armand Seguin. Le chromatisme subtil et le style solennel de ses paysages et natures mortes laissent apparaître l’infuence de Gauguin et de Cézanne.
Georges Chaudet was a member of the Société des Artistes Français, with whom he exhibited. He met Gauguin in the Breton village of Douarnenez, and became his friend and dealer until his death in 1899. In 1891, Chaudet participated in a group exhibition in Pont-Aven together with Loiseau and untimely Seguin. The refned colours and hieratic style of his landscapes and still-lifes betray the infuence of both Gauguin and Cézanne.
