A JUNYAO DEEP BOWL
Mrs. Samuel T. Peters (1859-1943), nee Adeline Elder, donated hundreds of pieces of Chinese pottery and porcelain to The Metropolitan Museum of Art in 1926. Samuel T. Peters, her husband, was a Museum trustee from February 16, 1914 until his death on October 21, 1921. Mrs. Peters was a notable Chinese art collector and donated nearly 400 jades to the museum.

The bowl has deep, rounded sides that rise from the small, slightly flared foot and is covered overall with a glaze of pale blue color suffused with a fine crackle that thins to mushroom at the rim and ends in an irregular line above the foot.
