A related Blue John vase though on a circular plinth was commissioned by Sir Nathaniel Curzon, 5th Bt. (1726-1804), later 1st Baron Scarsdale, for Kedleston Hall, Derbyshire (sold by The Kedleston Estate Trustees in these Rooms, 4 July 2002, lot 121, £15,535 including premium). Other closely related single vases were sold from the collection of Akko van Acker, Christie's, London, 19 May 2016, lots 250 (£17,500 including premium) and 254 (£13,750 including premium).
