SIGNED LI JINGYI, DATED GUANGXU CYCLICAL JIACHEN YEAR, CORRESPONDING TO 1904 AND OF THE PERIOD
The cube-form seal is surmounted by a lion-form finial, and inscribed on one vertical side by Li Jingyi dedicated to Changheng and dated to the fourth month of 1904. The seal face is carved with a five-character poetic inscription in intaglio.

Li Jingyi (1857-1925) was a native of Hefei, Anhui province, and the second son of the younger brother of the influential late-Qing
statesman, Li Hongzhang (1823-1901). Li Jingyi was also a notable politician during the late Qing to Republic period, and served in a
number of important positions, including Viceroy of Yun-Gui during the reign of Xuantong, and Premier of State Council in May-July 1917 of the Republic of China.
