It is extremely rare to find huanghuali furniture pieces inlaid with mother-of-pearl. Compare to a imperially made mother-of-pearl inlaid huanghuali kang table dated to the middle Qing period in the Palace Museum, Beijing, illustrated in The Palace Museum Collection: A Treasury of Ming & Qing dynasty Palace Furniture, vol. 1, Beijing, pp. 244-245, fig. 279.
See a mother-of-pearl-inlaid huanghuali cabinet depicting flowers, dated late Ming dynasty, 17th century, sold in Christie's Hong Kong, 3 June 2015, lot 2948.
