The historic Domaine Comte Georges De Vogüé can trace its history back to 1450 when Jean Moisson erected the original building in Chambolle Musigny. In 1766 Moisson’s descendant, Catherine Louise Bouhier de Versalieu, married Cerice François Melchior de Vogüé. The family managed to retain the Domaine, despite being exiled to England during the French Revolution. Comte Georges de Vogüé took over the estate in 1925. Today the Domaine is owned by sisters Comtesse Claire de Causans and Marie de Ladoucette and run by a team comprising Eric Bourgogne (vineyard manager), François Millet (technical director), and Jean-Luc Pépin (sales and marketing director). It is considered by many as the greatest estate in Chambolle Musigny. The Domaine comprises of 12.5 hectares of vineyards including 0.5 hectares of Chambolle-Musigny Les Amoureuses, 2 hectares of Chambolle-Musigny, 2.7 hectares of Bonnes-Mares (almost 20%), and the Domaine owns an incredible 7.25 hectares of the fabled Le Musigny vineyard which constitutes 70% of the whole site, including 0.5 hectares of Musigny Blanc (which was labelled as Bourgogne Blanc from 1994 through to 2014 when it was produced from younger vines deemed not suitable to be considered Grand Cru). The Domaine’s vines in Le Musigny were part planted in 1948 and the remainder in 1968, making it an old-vine cuvée throughout and labelled as Vieilles Vignes. The Domaine is considered amongst the very best in Burgundy, producing rich, elegant, perfumed and deliciously complex wines that can age for half a century or more. Francois Millet aims to achieve full expression of the exceptional terroirs in his wines. Musigny is the epitome of elegance, with complex aromas that take years to truly reveal themselves. Anyone attempting to draw up a list of the top 10 wines in the world would surely have to consider a Comte de Vogüé Musigny from a great vintage.

"In this vintage the berries were large, many had a tendency to saignee the cuves. Here they preferred to not overconcentrate the wines. And with reason. Picking was early to keep the freshness. Deeper nose then the Amoureuses, typical. Intense and reserved at first. The taste starts quite sweet and seductive, all black rich fruit. Behind the fruit there is a strong structure with great acidity and fine mineral tone. Beautiful juicy freshness in the pure rich black berry fruit. This sings on. Very good classic Bonnes-Mares! October 2018." - Edwin Vos
