Early figure eight style baseball in period maroon paint has hand-drawn gilt over red lettering listing the game score and date of July 13, 1878. Overall condition is very fine retaining excellent original surface with one scuff to side panel. Originated from the personal collection of Joe "Ubbo Ubbo" Hornung who played in the International Association and National League during the 1870-80s.
