百达翡丽Nautilus型号5980于2006年巴塞尔钟表展初次登场，以庆祝由Gérald Genta设计的经典型号3700/1推出 30周年。此腕表配备运动腕表最重要的计时功能，以及著名的「牛眼」辅助表盘。此设计首次出现在 型号5960上，其表盘内部展示小时，外圈则显示分钟，成功掳获了藏家的心。 5980更搭载百达翡丽完全自家制作的计时机芯28-520 C
