The present bowl has a beautiful lustrous glaze of even, celadon color, which pools to a deeper celadon between the lotus petals beneath the rim. A Longquan celadon 'lotus' bowl with similar color is illustrated by R. Krahl, Chinese Ceramics in the Topkapi Saray Museum, vol. 1, London, p. 209, no. 1. Another Longquan celadon bowl, but of conical form, featuring similar attractive pooling of the glaze, was sold at Christie’s New York, 24-25 March 2022, lot 1080.
