Thence by descent
Tulio Cardozo Faria was a Venezuelan diplomat, whose final posting was as Ambassador to India from 1975 to 1981. Over the course of his time in India, Ambassador Cardozo developed a strong attachment to the country and its culture, and acquired several works of art there. He was particularly drawn to semi-abstract and neo-tantric paintings by contemporary artists, acquiring a strong group from Dhoomimal Gallery in New Delhi. On his departure from India, he took these paintings back to Venezuela, where he and his family lived with and treasured them for over forty years.
