拍品专文

In 1890, Albert Bierstadt executed a group of butterfly and moth watercolors during a tea party at the Bloom Mansion in Trinidad, Colorado. Members of the party included the mansion's owner, cattle baron Frank G. Bloom and his wife Sarah, to whom Bierstadt gifted the present example along with lot 302. Both paintings have descended in the Bloom family ever since.
