拍品专文

The shape of this vase, as well as the bow-string bands and molded mask handles, are based on ancient bronze hu jars from the Han dynasty (206 BC – AD 220).

Similar Qianlong-marked blue and white hu-form vases of comparable size are in various museum collections. One in the Nanjing Museum is illustrated in The Official Kiln Porcelain of the Chinese Qing Dynasty, Shanghai, 2003, p. 235, and another in the National Palace Museum, Taipei, illustrated in Porcelain of the National Palace Museum. Blue and White Ware of the Ch'ing Dynasty, Book II, Hong Kong, 1968, pl. 2. Another Qianlong-marked example was sold at Christie’s Hong Kong, 31 May 2017, lot 3201.
