SIGNED PATEK PHILIPPE, REF. 5039J-001, MOVEMENT NO. 775'230, CASE NO. 4'000'268, CIRCA 1994

Launched in 1996 and produced until 2007, the Patek Philippe reference 5039 is one of the more unusual and relatively unknown models from the Maison's legendary perpetual calendar family. Compared to its sibling reference 3940 in which both watches were produced in tandem, the 5039 was made in much smaller numbers. It is believed that approximately 500 watches were made in yellow gold, 400 in white gold, and 300 examples in pink gold. The 5039 differentiates itself from the older 3940 model as it features a more intricate and luxe case with a hobnail bezel and straight but down turning lugs, though still being powering by the celebrated Caliber 240Q with an automatic micro-rotor winding system.
