Very unusual and rare, the present Patek Philippe gold bracelet watch reference 2100 features six shell or scallop shape integrated links, and an almost identical center 'link' containing a concealed watch. Upon pushing a button located at the side near 5 o'clock, the lid is spring-loaded and immediately pops open, revealing the silvered dial with a 'long' Patek Philippe signature (Patek, Philippe & Co.), identifying this watch's early production to 1945.

According to John Reardon of Collectability, the original retail of this timepiece, sometimes called 'the turkey', was $2,700, an extraordinary sum of money for the time, especially considering that Patek Philippe's first serially produced perpetual calendar chronograph wristwatch reference 1518 costed approximately half of the price. Only a handful of these lavish watches were believed to be manufactured, one of them being in Patek Philippe's own museum, making this timepiece a wonderful opportunity to acquire a rare and handmade beauty.
