A comparable rank badge of identical status appears in B. Jackson and D. Hugus, Ladder to the Clouds: Intrigue and Tradition in Chinese Rank, Berkeley, 1999, p. 242, pl. 15.023. A closely related pair of Qianlong-period kesi rank badges decorated with similar wave patterns interspersed with ruyi, rock formations, and an image of a pagoda, formerly in the David Hugus collection, was sold at Christie's New York on 22 September 2022, lot 855.
