Fresh to market and from the family of the original owner, the present stainless steel Patek Philippe Nautilus reference 3800⁄1 is a very special timepiece as the dial has wonderfully aged from the standard blue-black matte ribbed color, to a striking and even olive green color, reminiscent of the contemporary 'victory lap' final Nautilus reference 5711/1A-014 from 2021. Further rarified and confirmed by its Patek Philippe and Beyer Extracts, the dial has diamond indexes and is signed 'Beyer'.

Adding to its collectability and scarcity, the watch has a black date disc, which was only used in the very beginning of the production, as well as an accent above the second 'E' in 'GENÈVE', a feature found on only a small minority of examples of the reference 3800⁄1.

Reference 3800
Reference 3800 represents the mid-size iteration of the iconic Nautilus model. Released in 1981 to entice collectors who deemed the 42 millimeter size of the original Nautilus as excessive, the watch amazingly remained in production until 2006, during which the movement presented several evolutions.

Many early models feature caliber 335 SC without the quick set date feature through the crown. Such development was introduced in all 3800 models in 1987 while keeping the same caliber 335 SC. In 1992, a third generation was introduced featuring caliber 330 134, and finally caliber 330 194 was employed for the examples made from 1997 to 2006.

Beyer Chronometrie
Patek Philippe and Beyer Chronometrie have been partners since the earliest years of the Geneva-based manufacturer, and their partnership is the longest one either company has had. It has also been one of the most intimate since the Stern family bought Patek Philippe in 1932, based on a bond that goes beyond business. Beyer Chronometrie was honored in July 2011 to open Switzerland's first retailer-managed Patek Philippe boutique in recognition of this enduring relationship. As of recent news in 2026, Patek Philippe acquired the 266-year old family run business.
