Fresh to market and from the family of the original owner, the present Rolex 'Antimagnetic' Chronograph reference 3330 is a highly attractive specimen, and one of the early known examples of the reference.
Reference 3330
Manufactured from the mid-1930s to the early 1940s, the reference 3330 is a very collectible and oversized wristwatch, measuring 37 millimeters, perfect for todays' collectors. In total, it is believed that no more than 200 examples were manufactured during its short span, making it an extremely rare timepiece. This 'pre-Oyster' model was available in a plethora of dial options and case metals, with the present lot featuring a very coveted configuration with a sharp stainless steel case, multi-scale dial, and luminous blued pencil hands.
Reference 3330 was manufactured in conjunction with its sister reference 3335: the 3330 as a "tool-watch" with a flat bezel and brushed, down-curving lugs, and the 3335 as a "dressier" option with beveled lugs and a sloped bezel. Powering the timepiece is celebrated Valjoux 22.
