The very rare 'Dual Time' Reverso by Cartier, launched circa 1969-1970, stands as one of the most intriguing and elusive wristwatches from the Parisian workshops. Produced in only a handful of examples, this exceptional timepiece is an elegant and wonderful execution of Jaeger-LeCoultre's original Reverso design featuring the ingenious swiveling case, but with not only one, but two distinct dials: a refined white lacquer dial on one side and, on the reverse, a striking silvered and vertically brushed gold dial of remarkable warmth and presence. Unlike the more common Cartier Reverso models fitted with a single-time display and solid caseback, the present watch offers true dual-time functionality, achieved through two independent mechanical movements stacked atop one another and operated via separate crowns positioned at 6 o'clock on one side, and 12 o’clock on the other.
