Nihonbashi Yukibara is listed as the first work in the series in the table of contents, underscoring its significance within the series of Meisho Edo hyakkei. During the Edo period, Nihonbashi was the starting point of the five major highways and served as a vital hub for transportation and commerce in Edo. Its historical importance continues today, as the Nihonbashi bridge remains the reference point from which distances to Tokyo are measured on Japanese road signs.
