拍品专文

The deep inky blue tones of this vase, without much 'heaping and piling', is characteristic of porcelains from the Zhengtong period. Compare to a meiping dated to the Zhengtong period, depicting similar style of peacock and peonies, illustrated in The Complete Collection of Treasures of the Palace Museum, Blue and White Porcelain with Underglazed Red (I), Hong Kong, 2000, no.175; and a stem cup, dated to early Ming period, decorated with phoenixes among lotus scrolls, in the Matsuoka Museum of Art, included in Sekai Toji Zenshu, vol.14, Tokyo, 1976, no.184.
