拍賣簡介

Christie’s London will host its 20th/21st Century Evening Sale on 15 October 2025, featuring major works by some of the period’s most significant artists.

Celebrating the revolutions in art-making from the Impressionist to the Modern period, the sale features Paul Cezanne’s Maison de Bellevue et pigeonnier, revealing the artist’s nuanced treatment of form and perspective. Paul Signac’s L’Arc-en-ciel (Venise) and Marseille. Le vieux port together encapsulate the vivacity of Neo-Impressionism.

Among the Post-War and Contemporary highlights are three paintings by Lucian Freud from the same private collection: Woman with a Tulip, Self-portrait Fragment and Sleeping Head, capturing his personal and artistic evolution across three key decades.

Responding to the floral still-life tradition, Gerhard Richter’s Tulpen (Tulips) belongs to one of his most sought-after series of photo-paintings. Paula Rego’s Dancing Ostriches from Walt Disney’s ‘Fantasia’ offers a vibrant vision of female empowerment. The sale also features works from the Ole Faarup Collection, including Peter Doig’s Ski Jacket and Country Rock, and Chris Ofili’s Blossom, as well as a work by Jean-Michel Basquiat.
