Christie’s fall Photographs auction in New York will feature powerful images from throughout the history of the medium.
This season Christie’s is honored to be offering works from distinguished private collections including Ansel Adams Photographs from an Important Asian Collection; Photographs from the Kayafas Collection as well as The Time Out Antiques / Norman Mintz Collection of Daguerreotypes, amongst others.
Highlights from the 20th century include an Ansel Adams mural print of Aspens, Northern New Mexico, 1958 as well as rare vintage prints by Edward Weston, Tina Modotti and Laszlo Moholy-Nagy. Alongside will be post-war photographs by Diane Arbus, Richard Avedon, Peter Beard, Robert Mapplethorpe, Irving Penn and others. Contemporary highlights will include photographs by Nan Goldin, Richard Misrach, Hiroshi Sugimoto and Wolfgang Tillmans, and many more.
