The case surmounted by a classical female figure with globe and pen, with lanceolate leaf mounts to the front angles (restored cracks to left side of case), with square frame to the front forming the dial, applied with Roman chapters, with stellar centre mount and arrow hands, on rectangular base with lanceolate leaf cast gallery and on scroll feet, the twin barrel movement with silk suspension and countwheel strike on bell, signed on the backplate Charles Rue St honoré No.272 -- 22½in. (57.5cm.) high
