5 volumes, 12°. 1796 with engraved frontispiece and 8 plates of music; 1797 with engraved frontispiece,(large paper copy without the Kalendarium and 'Melodien' at end, these were not ready when first published and not supplied); 1798 with engraved frontispiece and 9 plates of music; 1799 with engraved frontispiece; 1800 with 5 engravings. First 3 volumes in modern vellum-backed boards, original coloured printed wrappers bound in with each volume; last 2 volumes in original printed wrappers, volume for 1799 unopened. With contributions by Goethe, Hölderlin, Schlegel, Tieck, etc. The volume for 1797 is the famous 'Xenien Almanach', a particularly early issue with the original buff wrapper designed by Goethe bound in, with two printing errors, reading 'Shillers. Almanach. fyr MDCCXCVII'. Cotta's advert for the Damen-Kalendar is tipped into the 1798 volume. (5)
