Engraved headpiece. 300 FINE HAND-COLOURED ENGRAVED PLATES after Georg Dioysius Ehret, John Miller, Richard Lancake and others, some with colour-printed base, 2 folding. (Occasional light offsetting, particularly to the final 30 plates.) Contemporary calf, spine gilt, g.e (extremities scuffed, spine worn). Provenance: J.H.Krelage (book-label); Ernest H.Krelage (bookplate).

A FINE LARGE COPY OF THE FIRST EDITION. A handsome work that includes 16 plates by Ehret, and a number from drawings by William Houstoun (the plant collector) who sent Miller a number of West Indian and Mexican specimens.
