Roger Moore as James Bond is seen wearing an identical ski jacket in the opening pre-title sequence set in Siberia and filmed at a glacier in Iceland and in Vadrietta di Scersen in the Swiss Alps. The specialist camerman for this sequence was the veteran Olympic skier, Willy Bognor, who also shot the George Lazenby bobsleigh chase in On Her Majesty's Secret Service, 1969, as well as the ski sequences in For Your Eyes Only, 1981 [see lot 276].
