'Yew Tree Cottage'
a rambling wooden dolls' house, painted to similar stonework with tiled roof and mullioned windows, open on four sides to reveal twelve rooms with passages, stable, laundry, interior doors, kitchen cupboard, front and back stairs, hall with benches and painted 'tiled' floor, hinged metal window frames, some original wall and border papers with furnishings including tinplate brass and soft metal fireplaces, bisque and china-headed servants, a miniature brass booklet with photographs of the Royal Family, carved horn table, chairs and candlestick, a 'cherrywood' piano, skin-covered horse and goat, a whicker cradle containing an all-bisque baby doll, cast metal tiger skin rug, plum pudding and Golly and a soft metal magazine rack, 1880s --31in. (79cm.) wide x 24in. (61cm.) deep x 24½in. (62cm.) high with stand (the house is overpainted); and copies of photographs of Ellen and the 1881 census for Handsworth, Stafford showing Ellen's father, grand parents and aunts

This house was made for Ellen Margaret Richards born in 1882, whose father was an ironmaster in Spring Hill. The company was called Richards & Company, Spring Hill Coach Ironworks. The house is based on their house at Perry Barr, Birmingham. The photograph in the catalogue shows the house without it's doors, these are all present.
