Barthold van Douma (1649-1678) was a member of the Staten van Friesland from 1659 to 1675. With his wife Doetje van Crack, he lived on Gerbada-state in Hallum. Barthold was also pictured on horseback by De Dowe. Not many pictures by this painter are known. He is concidered a follower of Wybrand de Geest and only portraits have come down to us.
