The Rococo style surround of the present brooch recalls a photograph frame produced in Fabergé's Moscow workshops and presented to Queen Louise of Denmark by Queen Victoria in 1898 (now in the Collection of Joan and Melissa Rivers). See G. von Hapsburg, M. Lopato, Fabergé: Imperial Jeweler, London, 1993, p. 229, No. 77.
