The larger notched disc is similar to two in the Winthrop Collection illustrated by M. Loehr, Ancient Chinese Jades, Fogg Art Museum, Harvard University, Cambridge, 1975, pp. 103-4, nos. 106 and 107, where they are dated Shang or Western Zhou. See, also, the jade disc with three deeply cut notches, but lacking the small notched teeth, excavated from the Simatai site, Haiyang, Shandong, illustrated in The Complete Collection of Jades Unearthed in China - 4 - Shandong, Beijing, 2005, p. 35.
