TUTTI-FRUTTI
Few jewels have captured the imagination and enthusiasm of connoisseurs and collectors as the Tutti-Frutti creations of Cartier. The incorporation of Indian influences and gemstones into jewellery was one of Cartier's greatest innovations in the Art Deco period (1915-1935). Alongside the rather severe, geometric style that was distinctive of the time, Cartier produced vibrant Tutti-Frutti jewels that were full of color and flowing naturalistic design. This parrot ring is a wonderful piece set with carved sapphires and emeralds that were directly inspired by the intricate Mogul craftsmanship found throughout the decorative arts of sixteenth-century India.
