The Bucci Painter was so-named by von Bothmer from an amphora formerly in the collection of Donato Bucci, now in the New Orleans Museum of Art. In style, his work is related to the circle of the Antimenes Painter and to the Andokides Painter, a red-figure artist. See p. 72 in Shapiro, Art, Myth and Culture, Greek Vases from Southern Collections.
