清乾隆白玉萬年如意奩

白玉料，色澤溫潤。體呈圓形，有蓋。蓋面琢四組如意雲團，花形蓋鈕，八組如意頭為花瓣，心中空。器體外壁琢四對鯰魚，魚回首，體呈S形，體態相反，如意形尾。兩體相連，兩魚首中飾如意頭，兩尾中雕雲雷紋，底承四矮足。此器雕琢精美，線條流暢，古樸清雅，寓意吉祥。奩為古代婦女盛香物或梳妝用品之器，而此奩為標準的清朝製品。

此器2007年11月27日曾於香港佳士得哈特曼重要玉器珍藏第二次專拍拍賣，拍品1505號。

No other examples of this particular form appear to have been published. The highly innovative design using a combination of traditional auspicious emblems and stylised motifs is typical of the Qianlong period.

The Chinese word for catfish, nianyu is a pun on the words 'plenty', yu and 'year' nian, in combination signifying the wish for a plentiful year.
