A three-case lacquer inro**
Edo period (18th-19th century), signed Gyonen nanaju-o, Toju (By Toju at age 70) and with cursive monogram (kao)
Decorated in varicolored gold, silver, red and black hiramaki-e, takamaki-e, kirikane and aogai inlay with travellers on a ferry, all against a kinji and sparse nashiji ground; with a lacquer box (hako) netsuke similarly decorated as a boat, and with an ivory ojime with built-in compass
