MING DYNASTY (1368-1644)

A smaller (8 cm.) white jade faceted cup, with the same stylized taotie mask surmounting the handle opposite a chilong clambering towards the rim, is in the Qing Court collection, illustrated in The Complete Collection of Treasures of the Palace Museum - Jadeware (II), Hong Kong, 1995, p. 249, no. 192, where it is dated to the early Ming dynasty.
