A kneeling woman in a billowing mantle

Although this drawing can not be connected to any known composition, it must date to around 1640. It is especially close in handling to a study for the Mary Magdalene carried by angels, from the Mariette collection now in the Louvre (inv. 33310; B. Brejon, Inventaire général des dessins. Ecole française. Dessins de Simon Vouet, Paris, 1987, no. 27).
