A very similar water pot in the Qing court collection (Fig. 1) is illustrated in The Complete Collection of Treasures of the Palace Museum - Small Refined Articles of the Study, Shanghai, 2009, pp. 6-7, where it is shown, p. 6, to have been one of the small articles stored in a fitted box for writing materials.
