Cylindrical on three ball feet, the body enameled in translucent red over a basket-weave guilloché ground, the front inset with coin depicting a cross with four Imperial crowns, the hinged domed cover inset with coin depicting Empress Catherine II, both on a red guilloché enamel ground, with ball thumb-piece and angular handle, with gilt interior, marked inside base
