With Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch with raised hour markers in gold in 1948 and its subsequent sale on 10 April 1951.
This reference 1415 World Time is one of the exceedingly rare examples of the iconic model to appear at auction to date.

A recent study reveals that Patek Philippe mounted on reference 1415 several different types of bezels. Whereas the first generation had only 28 cities, the later series such as the present lot featured either 41 or 42 locations. Interestingly, the city names were either spelled in French or in English. Given the strength of the American market after the war it comes to no surprise that the large majority of references 1415 were equipped with the Anglo-Saxon bezel version.
