The present chenets featuring crouched lions with their fore paws resting on a shield, are reminiscent of a pair bearing the arms of the Bruyères de Chalabre family at Waddesdon Manor and illustrated in G. de Bellaigue, The James A. de Rothschild Collection at Waddesdon Manor, Furniture, Clocks and Gilt Bronzes, vol. II, London, 1974, p.722, fig.182.
