With broad double-edged blade of flattened diamond section with a series of short fullers on each side, characteristic iron hilt with short shaped down-turned quillons, probably burnished originally, the remainder of the hilt with traces of silver-damascened decoration, in emerald-green velvet-covered scabbard with two iron bands each deocrated en suite with the hilt and each with a suspension ring, and later silver chape
